Tormek

With the Tormek sharpening system, you can sharpen a wide variety of cutting tools precisely and safely. These include knives, scissors, woodworking tools (such as chisels and planer blades), drills, woodturning tools, carving tools, axes, gardening knives, and even kitchen knives. Thanks to the numerous jigs and accessories, which you can also find in our shop, you can customize the machine to your tools to achieve a perfectly sharpened edge.

The main differences between the Tormek T-4 and the Tormek T-8 lie in size, motor power, and grinding capacity. The Tormek T-8 is larger, heavier, and has a more powerful motor, making it ideal for larger and heavier tools. It has a 250 mm diameter grinding wheel, while the Tormek T-4 has a smaller 200 mm grinding wheel. The honing wheel is also larger on the T-8: 215 mm compared to 145 mm on the T-4.

The T-8's increased stability makes it more suitable for larger fixtures such as the DBS-22 drill bit sharpener or the SVH-320 planer knife holder, which might appear unstable on the more compact T-4.

Both models come with an 8-year warranty (upon registration), but for commercial use the T-4 only offers a 2-year warranty, while the T-8 retains the full warranty period even for professional use.

The Tormek T-8 also comes with additional accessories, including the SE-77 Straight Edge Jig, the TT-50 Diamond Trimmer, and a storage tray for Tormek T-8 accessories. Both models include the basic accessories, such as the Tormek Manual, the PA-70 Honing Compound, the WM-200 Angle Gauge, the SP-650 Stone Preparator, and the EM-15 Edge Marker.

The choice depends largely on the tools you want to sharpen. For larger tools like drills or planer blades, we recommend the T-8 due to its strength and stability. If you primarily sharpen smaller tools, the compact T-4 might be a better choice for you.

Tormek offers an 8-year warranty on its sharpening machines (5 years + 3 years if registered within 90 days of purchase). This applies to both home and commercial use, with some differences depending on the model:

- Tormek T-8 Black: 50-year warranty upon registration.
- Tormek T-8 Original & T-8 Custom: 8-year warranty.
- Tormek T-4 Original & T-4 Bushcraft: 8-year warranty. 2 years for commercial use.
- Tormek T-2 & T-1 Kitchen Knife Sharpener: 8-year warranty. For commercial use, only 2 years.

Tormek offers a 2-year warranty on accessories and spare parts.
