Long-lasting sharpness for your axe

The Gränsfors Bruk whetstone is ideal for sharpening your axe. It is made of two natural materials: The coarse side made of sandstone from Orsa, Sweden, with a grain size of 120 to 200 grains, is ideal for preparing the cutting edge. The fine side made of clay slate from Los, with its grain size of 500 to 1000 grains, offers a smooth surface to achieve a particularly sharp cutting edge.

The whetstone fits comfortably in your hand and allows you to sharpen the blade precisely by simply following the existing grinding angle. With the vegetable-tanned leather cover and loop, you can easily attach the whetstone to your trousers or backpack - perfect for on the go.

NATURAL STONE WHETSTONE von Gränsfors Bruk

Sharp blades even on the go

No more blunt blades! The Gränsfors Bruk whetstone is your perfect companion for outdoor activities. Thanks to the practical leather cover, it can be easily attached to your backpack. The combination of coarse and fine sides ensures that your axe always stays perfectly sharp.

Why does the whetstone have two sides?

This whetstone combines coarse sandstone and fine clay slate to give your axe the perfect sharpness. With a grain of 100 to 1000, it is versatile and can be used for both coarse and fine work. The whetstone is handy and comes with a robust leather case - ideal for on the go and quick jobs.

What grain sizes are there?

The coarse grit of 100 to 200 is ideal for quickly restoring damaged or blunt axe blades and removing large amounts of material. The fine grit of 500 to 1000 is perfect for fine grinding to polish the cutting edge and achieve a particularly sharp, smooth blade.

How do I use the whetstone?

To use the Gränsfors Bruk whetstone, moisten the stone slightly with water or oil. Start with the coarse side to sharpen the edge at the existing grinding angle. Move the whetstone over the blade in even, circular movements until the basic shape is achieved. Then switch to the fine side to smooth and polish the edge. Repeat this process on both sides of the axe blade.
