The chisel set for the highest demands
Chisels are among the most versatile and widely used mortising tools. They are an essential part of every woodworker's toolkit. These chisels are suitable for both precise freehand cuts and light taps with a mallet. Their beveled sides reduce the risk of jamming during the cut and facilitate access to hard-to-reach areas, such as dovetail joints. However, they are not suitable for intensive applications.
Design and details:
The chisels in the five-piece No. 510 set impress with their tapered ferrule design. Each chisel features a 25° primary bevel and a 30° secondary bevel, making it easier to work with harder woods.
Individual adaptation for different types of wood:
- Softwoods (e.g. pine): We recommend re-grinding to 20° for the primary bevel and 25° for the secondary bevel.
- Hardwoods (e.g. oak): For optimal results, a steeper profile with 30° for the primary bevel and 35° for the secondary bevel is recommended.
